Sibling love: These Pinoy celebrity siblings also double as best friends

By John Patrick Magno Ranara Published Apr 10, 2023 4:47 pm

The bond between siblings is a special one.

They could be polar opposites from one another in terms of personalities and interests, which could lead to petty fights and conflicts. There are times, however, that they're one and the same, sharing similar thoughts on certain matters that other people may not agree with.

But no matter their relationship, they always have each other's backs through thick and thin. Here are some Filipino celebrity siblings who are living proof of that as they double as best friends in their own ways.

Mavy and Cassy Legaspi

Mavy and Cassy Legaspi have been in the limelight since they starred in family ice cream commercials in their yesteryears, along with their celebrity parents Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villaroel.

But now that they have gotten older, they decided that it was finally time to spread their wings and make a name for themselves in the entertainment industry.

When they recently guested in a cooking show on GMA-7, the celebrity twins said they will support each other no matter what.

"Sana matupad lahat ng dreams niya. Tapos lahat ng challenges na ma-face niya sana ma-face niya lahat ng consequences or struggles, sana she'll get over it," Mavy said.

Cassy, in turn, said, "I am very proud of you, I am very proud of my brother 'cause he's come a long way and super hardworking siya."

David and James Licauco

Did you know that Maria Clara at Ibarra star David Licauco has an equally charming brother?

In an interview with L!fe, the 20-year-old college student who is also part of the Ateneo Men's Volleyball Team said that what he loves the most about David is his caring attitude. "David is the kuya that helps you get away with things your parents don’t want you to do, but still makes sure you’re safe," he said.

While he doesn’t get to see David often due to their busy schedules, the actor makes it a point to message him when he can and ask him how he’s doing.

Yassi and Issa Pressman

Yassi and Issa Pressman have always made their deep sisterly bond evident, showing that they're always ready to help each other out in braving harsh waters.

Aside from being in showbiz, the two have also ventured into the realm of business by managing multiple brands such as salon KOOP studio, Wavee, and Presidential Paws.

When Issa celebrated her birthday last year, Yassi had a touching message for her: "I love you 5ever Iss. My little baby. We survived so much and all I will ever want is to be there for you and watch as you succeed, grow, learn, and be truly happy. You mean more than the world to me."

Daniel Padilla's family is not only overflowing with talent—it's also chock-full of attractive genes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Case in point: Daniel and his younger sister Margaret "Magui" Ford Planas.

Magui is the third child of Karla Estrada from her ex-husband Mike Planas. Despite being half-siblings, Daniel and Magui share a bond that is unlike any other.

For instance, when Magui celebrated her 18th birthday in 2020, her older brother was seen being adorably protective of her. In a video captured during the magical night, Daniel was in full "protective older brother" mode when he appeared to jokingly give a long, stern stare at singer and YouTuber Justin Vasquez, who interacted with her sister during the party.

Donny Pangilinan has big dreams in his life under the spotlight, and his two beautiful and charming sisters, Ella and Hannah, are here to support him all the way.

The three siblings are as close as they can get, and they're making sure that not one of them is being left behind when it comes to achieving their aspirations in life.

Back in October 2022, Donny took to his Instagram account to share that he finally made one of his greatest dreams in life come true when he finished his college education. This was made even more special because his sisters also finished their college degrees at the same time as him, showing just how much they care for one another's success.
