YG Entertainment announced on Monday, October 3 that a legal investigation has been made against the anonymous netizen who leaked the personal photos of BLACKPINK’s Jennie.

In a statement per Korea JoongAng Daily, YG has requested authorities to investigate who circulated Jennie’s photos on the internet.

“We have refrained from mentioning the matter or making an official statement in order to minimize any further damage. However, there have been indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment, and violations of personal life sparked by those private photographs,” the statement read.

YG will also take action against netizens who have been “writing excessive malicious posts and distributing illegal information” in violation of South Korea’s Information and Communication Network Act.

While the music label didn’t clarify whether the photos were edited or not, the agency will take action in a big to protect Jennie's “rights and interests.” They also asked netizens to "refrain from indiscriminately sharing those images."

“We will also take all possible legal actions against any additional damages caused without any leniency. The photos [of Jennie] distributed online were made public illegally, without Jennie’s consent."

In recent months, Jennie and BTS' V were embroiled in dating umors after an alleged photo of them together vacationing in Jeju circulated online. However, fans debated whether the photo in question is edited or not.

In August, another alleged photo of the artists spread all over social media. In the photo, V is seen getting his hair styled as Jennie takes a mirror photo from behind him.
