It's confirmed: Asia Artist Awards 2023 to take place in Philippine Arena in December
Heads up, Filo Hallyu fans! You have the chance to watch your favorite Korean stars all in one stage live as one of South Korea’s biggest awards shows is set to take place in the Philippine Arena.
For the first time ever, this year’s Asia Artist Awards will be hosted by the Philippines. The eighth edition of the awards ceremony will take place at the Philippine Arena on Dec. 14.
Rumors that AAA 2023 will be held in the Philippines began circulating on Wednesday, Aug. 30, after South Korean outlet StarNews published a report on the same day. The event's organizer, Pulp Live World, confirmed the news in a press release sent to Philippine media today. Aug. 31.
Regarded as a distinguished South Korean award-giving institution established in 2016, AAA recognizes and celebrates Asian excellence in film, music, television, and digital content.
According to Pulp Live World, the AAA aims to serve as the platform for “cross-cultural understanding” and the promotion of Asian pop culture. Last year's event, for one, was held in Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan.
“It acts as a venue for fostering collaboration and cultural dialogue among artists from different Asian nations. By facilitating these interactions, the AAA plays a vital role in shaping the future of entertainment in the region,” Pulp Live World said in a statement. “It also promotes cross-cultural understanding, and champions the global proliferation of Asian pop culture.”
The award-giving body has recognized the excellence of K-pop stars BTS and EXO, as well as actors Im Yoon-ah, Park Bo-gum, and Lee Seung-gi, among others.
AAA’s sixth and seventh editions were previously hosted by Super Junior’s Leeteuk and IVE’s Jang Won Young. It isn’t confirmed yet if they will return to their hosting duties for this year’s event as of writing.
