The release date of BLACKPINK THE GAME has been slated for May 18 this year.

TakeOne Company announced that the mobile game will hit leading mobile apps like Android's Google Play and Apple's App Store, sharing details regarding its storyline on its official website.

You play the game from the first-person point of view of the main character, who is just listening to BLACKPINK at work as usual when "The Fragment of Chaos" smashes through the studio window and fell in front of them. After stepping closer to inspect it, a mysterious light flashes and the protagonist loses consciousness. They are then woken up by BLACKPINK members, being referred to as "Producer-nim." They then learn that they are the main producer in charge of managing the "rookie" group BLACKPINK.

With the mobile game, which also contains ads and in-app purchases, you can wear a producer hat and manage your own K-pop agency as you solve puzzles to complete the girl group's schedules, customize members with a range of outfit options, and play mini-games with friends in the BLACKPINK WORLD.

You can even level up your own BLACKPINK members through different training departments in vocal, dance, and acting, among others.

"We plan to show a game that is differentiated from the existing ones by combining our unique know-how in content games and the active participation of BLACKPINK members, and will be greatly loved by the global fandom and content game market," TakeOne Company chief executive officer Jung Min-chae said.

"We hope that fans around the world will enjoy special pleasure in the world of BLACKPINK THE GAME," YG Entertainment added.

Rated 3+ or suitable for all age groups, BLACKPINK THE GAME is set to come out with its original soundtrack and music video by the K-pop girl group also scheduled for a second-quarter 2023 release.

BLACKPINK, consisting of Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo, debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment. They’re best known for their hit songs How You Like ThatKill This Love, and DDU-DU DDU-DU.
