Britney Spears has disclosed what pushed her to write her upcoming memoir The Woman in Me, which has since been buzzing after it revealed shocking secrets regarding the artist's personal life.

On her Instagram account, which was inexplicably deactivated, the Toxic singer shared a statement explaining her motive for the book that has now become a best-seller on Amazon.

"My book's purpose was not to offend anyone by any means! That was me then... that is in the past!" Britney stressed.

She detailed that most of the events that she included in the memoir happened 20 years ago and that she has now moved on to have a "beautiful clean slate from here."

"I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life! This is actually a book I didn’t know needed to be written... although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future!" she added.

Britney hopes that The Woman in Me will be able to "enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood."

She emphasized, "Again, my motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences, which is what the press is doing and it's dumb and silly! I have moved on since then!"

According to the memoir's official website, the book is touted to be a "a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope."

Its synopsis also appeared to tease that it will explore Britney's experiences with her controversial guardianship that has controlled her life for the past 13 years.

"In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history," the synopsis read.

"Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last," it added.

While the memoir won't hit the shelves until Oct. 24, it has already dropped several bombshells on the public, such as how she had an abortion when she became pregnant by her ex-boyfriend and fellow music superstar Justin Timberlake.

The pop star's book will also dive into how Justin allegedly cheated on her with an unnamed celebrity and how she also had a whirlwind romance with actor Colin Farrell.
