G-Dragon's agency, Galaxy Corporation, brushed off dating rumors involving the former and Miss Korea 2022 second runner-up Kim Go Eun.

In a report by a Korean media outlet, Soompi on Sunday, Mar. 10, the agency said that the two are "not in a romantic relationship."

"G-Dragon and Kim Go Eun are not in a romantic relationship," an agency's representative said in a statement.

"She is merely a dongsaeng that he knows, and her social circle overlaps with his," it continued.

Dongsaeng is a term used to refer to a younger sibling or a close friend who is younger.

"We understand that this rumor originated in China last summer and then began to spread, but after checking, they are not romantically involved."

The dating rumors sparked last July when the iconic BIGBANG frontman and the former beauty pageant winner were spotted attending a soccer match together in Osaka, Japan. Hence, alleged romance began to surface on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

Likewise, eagle-eyed fans claimed that the duo are romantically involved due to photo evidence, pointing out that most places they've been to were the same. They said the instances were "often to call a coincidence."

Fans also saw G-Dragon's friends and acquaintances engaging with Kim Go Eun on Instagram, which further fueled the rumors that the two were a pair.

Kim Go Eun, a 22-year-old engineering student, was hailed as second runner-up during the 66th Miss Korea pageant, which took place in Seoul, South Korea, on Oct. 26, 2022.

Meanwhile, G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji Yong, debuted in 2006 and gained popularity as the leader of the South Korean boy band BIGBANG and was known as the "King of K-pop."

In October 2023, the Crayon singer was involved in a drug-related case. Since then, he denied the claims, stressing that "there is no truth to the [claim] that I have taken drugs."

In November of the same year, he tested negative and personally appeared before the authorities for the preliminary investigation regarding his alleged drug-related charges.

"The results came back negative. I've also requested an urgent thorough examination." the K-pop star told Soompi.

After a month, the Incheon Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit on Dec. 19 declared its decision to drop its charges against the former K-pop artist.
