K-pop star G-Dragon of BIGBANG has been fully acquitted of drug charges by Korean police.

According to Naver News, the Incheon Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit on Dec. 19 declared its decision to drop its charges against the former K-pop artist.

Just last Dec. 13, the agency revealed its plan to drop the case due to lack of evidence. It also decided not to extend G-Dragon's travel ban.

"We plan to conclude the case with a finding of no suspicion against Mr. Kwon. The final decision is expected to be made by the end of December," the police said.

G-Dragon was initially booked without detention on drug charges under the Narcotics Management Act in October after a club manager claimed his potential drug use. The singer, however, denied his involvement in his alleged illegal drug use, saying that he has "nothing to do with the recent news reports about violating the Narcotics Control Act.”

During the investigation, the acclaimed artist was summoned for questioning and even submitted himself to thorough testing, which included urine, hair, and nail samples. These, however, were found negative, leading to rumors that the singer had tampered with evidence.

Meanwhile, an unnamed individual, identified as Doctor A, will be interrogated at the Incheon District Court on December 20.

The police said they had reapplied for a warrant for this person.

“In the case of Mr. Kwon, we found that there was no suspicion and concluded the investigation. We have reapplied for a warrant for another person subject to investigation.”
