American director Joe Russo lauded Liza Soberano for being a scene-stealer for her performance as Taffy in Lisa Frankenstein.

In a post on X, he said that movies like the Filipino actress' first Hollywood film “can be great vehicles to break new stars.”

“[Zelda Williams] and Diablo Cody found a superstar in Liza Soberano, who steals every scene she’s in as Lisa’s step-sister, Taffy,” he continued.

The film’s lead star, Kathryn Newton agreed with the statement, replying, “YES SHE DOES,” she wrote with five star emojis. “I [love] Liza.”

Prior to this, Liza has also earned praise from the film’s director Zelda Williams, describing her as “most people's favorite part of this whole movie.”

Kathryn, meanwhile, described her as “professional” and “perfect” on and off-cam.

“I love Liza. She is just a gift to the world, this girl. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met in my whole life, and there’s nobody that could play this role [Taffy] except her,” she said.

Lisa Frankenstein is currently having its advance screenings in U.S. cinemas prior to its premiere this month. It follows a misunderstood teenager as she reanimates a handsome corpse, who also happens to be her high school crush. The sudden, strange circumstance then leads them to embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness, "and a few missing body parts along the way."

The film is set to open in Philippine cinemas on Feb. 7.
