Actress Jaymee Joaquin has passed away at the age of 44 after a long battle with breast cancer.

The news of her death was announced by several people, including her cousin Erika Geronimo and friend Corrs Valenton

On her Facebook account, Erika shared the unfortunate about the former Star Magic artist, who passed away last Wednesday, Oct. 18.

"It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of my cousin, Jaymee Topacio aka Jaymee Wins or Jaymee Joaquin," she wrote.

"She lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. She inspired and touched a lot of lives through her advocacy and talent. She will be greatly missed and will always be in our loving memory as a strong woman. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered," the tribute read.

Corrs, her former workmate, also posted a tribute to the former actress, whom she had the opportunity to meet last year for Jaymee's passion project, Beautiful Scars, a documentary about Filipina breast cancer "thrivers."

"PAALAM, JAYMEE," she wrote. "She was powerful not because she wasn't scared but because she went on so strongly despite the fear. You will be dearly missed, Jayms."

"Itutuloy at tatapusin namin ang proyekto natin. Your legacy lives on with the @beautifulscarsdocu," Corrs wrote.

Jaymee, known for her roles in My Big Love, Kutob, and Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 after discovering a marble-sized lump on her left breast. She received treatment, but the cancer returned in 2019 and 2020. Despite her struggles, Jaymee bravely shared her health journey on social media, inspiring others with her positivity.

She has two self-published books That Sh*t Called Cancer and No-Hair Mama, Don’t Care, a podcast show “WIN Your Daily Battles” and an upcoming documentary called Beautiful Scars.
