Jericho Rosales congratulates Kathryn Bernardo following contract renewal: 'I hope that we can work on something someday'

Jericho Rosales congratulated fellow Kapamilya Kathryn Bernardo, who renewed her contract with ABS-CBN's Star Magic.

At Kathryn's contract signing on Friday, well wishes poured in from family and friends, including a special message from Jericho.

"I want to congratulate you for the steps that you've been taking. I've been watching you and you've been doing great. And I hope that we can work on something someday, and let's work on that promise," he said in his greeting.

Piolo Pascual also greeted the young actress and advised her to "never stop pursuing her passion" and "always strive for excellence."

For her part, Kathryn thanked her friends from the industry who were there with her during her toughest times last year.

“Last year was a very, very hard time for me,” she said. “It’s so hard to find real friends in the industry. Ni-prove nila possible din na makahanap ka ng mabubuting tao sa industriya… Sila ‘yung mga nandyan especially nung pinakakailangan ko sila. Thank you for staying and thank you for being with me throughout all this.”

Fans are buzzing about a potential connection between Kathryn and Jericho after they were seen jogging together and a social media post captured them both on Monday, Jan. 29.

“Post ko na din sa wall ko para may remembrance. Kasabay lang namin mag jogging sila Kathryn Bernardo and Jericho Rosales. Wag nang mag showbiz question kasi di ko din alam ang sagot,” the uploader, Joanne Canja, wrote in her caption. Joanne, however, clarified on X that Goin’ Bulilit alum John Manalo was with them.

However, a recent photo showing Kathryn and Jericho together at Maja Salvador's gender reveal party, shared by Rambo Nuñez's mom, has further sparked dating rumors.

The two have yet to speak about the speculations.

Just this week, a godfather of Jericho shared that he and his wife Kim Jones have been separated since 2019—four years after their wedding.

"While the friendship between the two remains, they have decided it is time to lead separate lives. They are encouraging each other to grow, albeit in different directions," Ricco Ocampo told ABS-CBN News.

He stressed that the split "was a mutual decision" and that the break-up was "dealt with grace and maturity."

Meanwhile, Kathryn and her longtime boyfriend Daniel Padilla broke up in November 2023.
