"Pa-kiss nga."

"Bakit ganoon, lasang banana ketchup?"

A New York-based Filipino cosmetics brand has launched a flavored lip gloss inspired by the favorite condiment in every Pinoy carinderia, tapsilogan, and hapag.

The latest product of Filipinta Beauty has encapsulated the actual thing, from the redness of the dip to the bottle label's yellow and green hues.

Filipinta Beauty said its banana gloss even smells like the fruit.

According to the brand's website, the cruelty-free product has the following ingredients:

  • Hydrogenated Polyisobutene,
  • Fractionated Coconut Oil,
  • Colorless Jojoba Oil,
  • Vitamin E Oil,
  • Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer,
  • Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer,
  • Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate,
  • Castor Oil, and
  • Flavoring Oil.

"Freshly made when you order! Use within 12 months," the item's catalog read.

Filipinta Beauty also launched another flavor in yet another Pinoy classic: lechon sauce. It noted that the neutral brown shade has a "very interesting meaty scent."

The product has the same ingredients as the banana ketchup gloss, according to its website.

"It’s no secret that a big part of our food culture involves our very own sauces," Filipinta Beauty said in an Instagram post, "and we are highlighting two of the most popular and beloved sauces of all time and turned them into a lip gloss."

The lip gloss costs $7 (around P400) apiece, and can be ordered from Filipinta Beauty's website, which accepts PayPal and major credit cards. One may also message its Instagram page for assistance in placing of orders.

Filipinta Beauty, a portmanteau of "Filipina" and "pinta" which roughly translates to "face paint for Filipinas," is championing Pinoy culture in its products.
