In interview training, Beatrice Luigi Gomez says she ‘dedicated everything’ to win Miss Universe
We know Beatrice Luigi Gomez can serve the fashion, the face, and the body. But in the recent videos of her coming out on social media in the lead-up to the 70th Miss Universe, the Cebuana beauty queen is also proving that she has the speaking skills, the determination, and the heart to fight for the pageant crown. She showed this in the video of her training session with TV host Boy Abunda posted on YouTube on Wed, Dec 8.
In the video, Gomez was shown answering questions from various personalities—including Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo—with Abunda and the panelists giving her tips and pointers on how to deliver her answer better.
One question, which came from actor Sku Quizon, goes: “Why should you lose Miss Universe?”
Gomez replied: “I’ve done all of my training with one goal in mind, and that is to win.”
“But now that you ask me why I should lose, I think that I shouldn’t. Because as I said earlier, I dedicated everything to win, and that (losing) should not be an option,” she added.
Asked how she would introduce herself in 45 seconds, she said: “I may sound serious and look serious all the time, but I can also be fun.”
Other topics discussed in her training include climate change, social media, and how she would deal with a homophobic fellow contestant.

Gomez also bared her heart and her motivation as she represents in the Philippines in the world pageant stage in Miss Universe’s Up Close on her, posted on Youtube earlier this week.
In the video, she revealed being raised by a single mother and getting an athletic scholarship that enabled her to “go to a good school from high school to college.”
“Being part of the volleyball varsity team is not just something that I take as an achievement, but it is something that really changed my life for the better,” Gomez explained. "Because I was able to help my mom in some way, and I was able to make her proud.”
She also shared her background as a community development worker and as a Philippine Navy reservist.
She added that as an LGBTQ member, she wants to serve as an inspiration to children. Gomez is the first openly-bisexual beauty queen to win the Miss Universe Philippines title.
