Pink yourself up with FitFlop this October

As a brand that seeks to empower women, FitFlop is taking part in October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) campaign.

The Philippines is found to have the highest prevalence of breast cancer globally, with three out of a hundred Filipino women estimated to develop the cancer. While there is no definite prevention for breast cancer, living a healthy lifestyle could decrease the risk, as well as having regular screenings - early detection greatly increases chances of recovery. Early breast cancer detection guidelines recommend a monthly breast self-exam a week after menstruation, an annual clinical breast exam conducted by a doctor for women over the age of 30, and an annual mammogram for women over the age of 40.

The importance of early detection cannot be emphasized enough. Knowing what breast cancer symptoms to watch out for and having regular breast check-ups are essential in early detection and proper treatment. These cannot and should not be delayed, especially in light of today’s situation, when women may hesitate to seek help due to the pandemic.

To help raise awareness for this cause, FitFlop launched their Pink Yourself Up campaign. Aside from educating women on breast cancer, FitFlop also wants this campaign to serve as encouragement to everyone who is currently struggling. Whether the struggle is with breast cancer, mental health in this difficult time, or adjusting to new circumstances, there is always hope and strength to be found. You are fighters, you are beautiful, and you can find the courage to pick yourself up to conquer whatever obstacles come your way.

FitFlop is also partnering with ICanServe Foundation, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit foundation that provides high impact information campaigns, community based screening programs, and a support group of breast cancer survivors to guide patients in their journey. A portion of proceeds from the latest FitFlop BCAM collection will be donated to help ICanServe provide more assistance to breast cancer warriors in this time of need.

The BCAM collection, which is comprised of the Haylie Quilted Cube, Lottie Iridescent Scale, and Rhylee Wave styles, are available in FitFlop and select ResToeRun stores nationwide.

The Haylie in Rose Pink, Beetroot, and Black
