The challenge is real: Miss Baguio climbs atop the Marcos Highway tunnel for her MUPH Fashion and Runway video
Looks like there ain't no mountain high enough for Miss Baguio Ghenesis Latugat.
The beauty queen stood out during the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 fashion and runway challenge, taking home the win for Baguio. Her fierce runway walk and gorgeous Ifugao-inspired garment were accompanied by a view of the picturesque Benguet.
But getting those beautiful shots of her walk wasn't an easy feat, as the behind-the-scenes footage showed.
In videos shared by Latugat's makeup artist Cy Magat, Latugat went on a climb to reach the top of the Marcos Highway Tunnel to shoot her challenge entry.
"This is how we take the #MUPH2022FashionAndRunwayChallenge seriously." Magat wrote on Facebook. "The challenge is real."
The Baguio beauty was already in glam, wearing her Kalinga and Benguet weave garment by designer Eric John dela Serna. During the climb though, she was wearing purple pants and flats to make her hike more comfortable.
When they reached the top of the tunnel, Latugat, who was already in heels, was playfully being carried by one of the members of her team.
On Instagram, Latugat thanked her team for their hard work for the challenge video.
"Behind this successful runway challenge is a hardworking team✨ Forever grateful for your sacrifices💚," she wrote, tagging the people who worked on the shoot.
Alongside Latugat, Cebu City's Chantal Elise Legaspi Schmidt and Palawan's Angelica Lopez won first and second runners-up. The Top 3 winners of the Fashion and Runway Challenge were determined based on the number of fan votes on the MUPH app and judges' ratings.
Latugat is part of the 50 hopefuls vying for the Miss Universe Philippines crown on April 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
