Attending the Met Gala is one thing, but embodying the essence of its theme is another. And it looks like Genesis Suero is one of this year's gala’s shining stars.

Telemundo reporter Genesis Suero caught the attention of netizens on social media as she covered the 2022 Met Gala in a gold gown. Since the theme of this year’s charity gala is “Gilded Glamour,” Suero’s dress is a fitting homage to the Glided Age.

The reporter took to Instagram to share that it was her first time covering the annual ball. “Grateful with all the opportunities that have landed my way. Today for the first time ever I can proudly announce my special coverage from the red carpet of the Met Gala from the Metropolitan Museum of New York City.”

“I am beyond blessed with all those who’ve made this magical moment a full reality,” she added.

Suero’s breathtaking, Cinderella-inspired gown with sheer puff sleeves was created by Dominican designer Lucia Rodriguez.

Of course, netizens couldn’t get enough of Suero’s Met Gala fit. Here are some of the best simp-worthy reactions we’ve seen on the internet.

Twitter user @relaxinganxiety said Suero “better get invited” to next year’s edition of the Met Gala.

Meanwhile, @NINETIESRNB said the reporter is the “unsung hero” of the annual ball.

@anairdaodette said Telemundo should give Suero a “raise” for understanding the theme “better than 95% of the celebs.”

Twitter user @CafeDeDuy said Suero is the “only person who fully went and did the assignment for the Gilded Age look.”

Who is Genesis Suero?

Born Genesis Camila Suero Mateo, the 30-year-old reporter made headlines after being crowned Miss New York USA in 2018. Suero shared in her Miss USA introduction video that she hopes to help immigrants “from different parts of the world” find a home in the US.

Suero proved she’s no stranger to pageantry since also competed in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2019 and Nuestra Belleza Latina 2021 pageants.

The Dominican lass is currently working as a reporter at the American Spanish-language TV network Telemundo, as of this writing.
