The latest Michael Kors collection reminds me of plantitas
Remember when you were hardly in one place long enough to watch things grow? Months in, many have rediscovered the joy of becoming plantitas and plantitos — parents to budding new life in our homes, ranging from the edible to the decorative — as we collectively shelter for safety and try to bring the outdoors in, or try to lessen our grocery trips for herbs and veggies.
American fashion designer Michael Kors’ latest collection is very much about this life now, too.
“I designed this season with more thought and more intent than anything I’ve ever done,” he says. “We were all forced to slow down this year, and I think we all started to appreciate things in a new way — suddenly, a flower blooming, a beautiful sunset, a walk along the river, these were things that brought us hope. I wanted to look at nature and rebirth through an urban lens.”
Admiring the collection from the comfort of my home, the pieces and styling give me a few ideas to spruce things up.
