Kisses Delavin says she receives P1,000 as her daily allowance in college, but only spends P100 per week
Miss Universe Philippines top 30 candidate Kisses Delavin said she was taught by her parents to handle her finances at an early age, especially during her college days at De La Salle University.
In an interview with TV host Boy Abunda, Delavin revealed that she only spends P100 per week even if she received P1,000 as her daily allowance.
“Sina mommy and daddy pinapabaonan ako ng P1000 per day sa La Salle, pero I think I would spend mga 100, one week na yun. It’s an adjustment na of course, you have to consider your friends din, pero I always make sure I don’t spend too much,” she said.
Delavin said she was able to save money by eating in her condo, which is located across from DLSU, before her classes.
The aspiring beauty queen also revealed that she wasn’t “kuripot” in college, but she’s careful when it comes to spending her money.
“I’m not kuripot naman pero I’m careful with how much I spend and here in Manila you can just go to the mall and P1000 is gone… It’s an adjustment, of course, you have to consider your friends din. Pero I always make sure I don’t spend too much” she added.
The aspiring beauty queen admitted that she learned the value of money at an early age.
“I remember when I was a child, my mother and father would work from Monday to Sunday and I learned the value of money. That’s why the first time when I had a baon na money was in first-year high school because I don’t like to spend money that much. Because I know how hard it is to earn that money,” Delavin said.
Prior to joining the reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother, Delavin revealed that she went to DLSU for one-and-a-half years.
“It was one of the happiest moments of my life because I’m in an organization, it’s a theater org. It’s called Harlequin Theatre Guild and from 6 pm to 10 pm, we’re always at the org making props and plays,” she shared.
Despite the initial “culture shock,” Delavin said she cherishes her time in DLSU. “I love my La Salle years,” she added.
Delavin is one of the final 30 candidates who will compete for the Miss Universe Philippines crown. She’s one of the three delegates selected based on the highest votes on the MUPH app.
