Doug and Cheska Kramer highlights why a good quality mattress is important for your sleep

For most of us, the most important (and rewarding) part of the day is diving right on our beds after a long day—not only do we get to rest our minds and bodies, but also improves our overall well-being.

And with sleep being a vital need, it should come as no surprise that it is also essential to have a good quality mattress.

And that is exactly what Doug and Cheska Kramer said at the Uratex webinar for their Better Sleep, Better U campaign.

The couple, who has been co-sleeping with their kids Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin since 2009, said that getting a good quality mattress is the best investment any person could get. “The keyword talaga for us is investment. Invest in a good mattress so that we will all get better sleep, and that we need to be re energizing for us as we start our day as we start over,” said Doug.

Cheska added how sleeping on the wrong bed can lead to physical problems. “If you have a nice mattress, you save yourself from having back aches, from having sleepless nights, and all these things that come in when your mattress is not so good.”

That’s why if you’ve been following Team Kramer on social media, you’ve probably seen their super huge customized bed that can fit about 10 people—the biggest ever made in the Philippines.

For them, sleep is very important—especially to their kids who are busy with homeschooling and extracurricular activities. “We make sure that the kids get at least eight hours of sleep,” Doug said. “It's very important for them to be well rested and waking up on the right side of the bed.”

Admittedly, the couple has those sleepless nights, too. “I keep my mind so occupied with things and sometimes I overthink,” says Doug.

Cheska, on the other hand, gets restless when she’s having insomnia. Her trick? Meditation and journaling. “I honestly really do meditate and I pray,” she said. “So before I sleep, I really make sure to clear my mind, whatever it is that I'm anxious about I pray about it. I journal also a lot, I put my thoughts there and that helps me.”

Though insomnia can be caused by a lot of factors—some of them include poor sleeping habits and physical discomfort, which again, can be prevented if you have a mattress that supports and cushions your body.

“People, they don't realize that they probably spent half their life on the bed,” said Doug. “So for us, it's very important that [when] people visit us here at the house will also experience the same kind of sleep that we get. That's why even in our guest rooms, the kids rooms, they all have the same bed as ours.”
