Pornhub's year in review reveals more Filipino women are on the site than men
Filipinos continued to reportedly log the most number of hours at Pornhub, although this year, more Filipino women logged hours on the site than Filipino men.
This 2021, there were a number of interesting insights about how Filipinos spent their time on Pornhub, including the fact that more women are on the site than men.
Based on this year's findings, users from the Philippines spent the most time on the platform at 11 minutes and 31 seconds, getting the top spot from Thailand in 2019. The country is also the top 9th source of traffic on the site, with the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan in the top three spots.
'Embracing female sexuality'
Interestingly, Pornhub also saw a growth of female visitors compared to its last year in review in 2019. The Philippines leads in this category, too, having 52% of its visitors be women—a big jump from 2019's 39% female viewership.
"We are moving towards embracing female sexuality and women are feeling more deserving of pleasure. As a result, women are more open to exploring their sexuality and there is less stigma around watching porn," New York-based sex writer, educator, and coach Niki Davis-Fainbloom said. "More women are feeling empowered, and exploring how the right video can help facilitate that for us. As a result, it seems like there is more porn being produced that targets a female audience.”
Other statistics
The wrap-up also detailed that 37% of Filipinos on Pornhub are aged 18 to 24, with 29% coming from those aged 25 to 32. 15% from 35 to 44, and 9% from ages 45 to 54.
It also listed that 74% of Filipino watchers use their mobile devices when visiting the site.
The term "pinay" continues to be the most searched by Filipinos with other terms such as "hentai," "Japanese," and "Korean" following suit.
