Moving forward with a hopeful spirit

Hope shines light in the face of darkness. With this, keeping your head high in the face of crisis—especially among the younger generation—is possible.

Each person’s journey towards healing is indeed a process. It doesn’t have to include giant steps or significant moments to be considered as such. Baby steps such as confiding with your support network, seeking help, celebrating small wins, and hearing stories of hope can help you in your path to recovery.

As we face difficult times, remember that you’re not alone in your battle.

Globe HopeBank and PhilSTAR L!fe’s Kwento ng Tagumpay campaign empowers you to keep going with stories of hope, courage, and perseverance.

Mental health is one of the advocacies of PhilSTAR L!fe

Overcoming uncertainty with faith

The Kwento ng Tagumpay campaign is about the positive impact of keeping human connections alive amid social distancing and quarantine protocols. It tells stories of individuals who can rise above the challenges of the health crisis and how they make a difference in the lives of others.

“The campaign aims to capture real stories that inspire and instill hope to the younger generation, for them to fight challenges, and see the triumph of the human spirit over the devastating effects of the pandemic,” says PhilSTAR Media Group EVP Lucien Dy Tioco.

As long as you have hope to cling to, you can overcome feelings of uncertainty.

Mental health is one of the advocacies of PhilSTAR L!fe, The Philippine STAR’s newest online lifestyle platform. The campaign was created with the platform’s primary audience in mind to inspire others with real-life stories.

“The primary audience of [PhilSTAR L!fe is the 21 to 35 age group, that’s why Kwento ng Tagumpay  features a series of crowdsourced real-life stories of hope in video format,” shares Dy Tioco. “PhilSTAR L!fe is a media entity and Globe is a very influential brand. It’s important to empathize with the general sentiment of our audiences and address this in a campaign that promotes positivity.”

"This pandemic undeniably brought about new challenges and a lot of uncertainties that are truly testing the Filipino spirit of resilience. Globe for a long time, has been an advocate of mental health and we believe this campaign will resonate with a lot of people who need support.  We hope to extend #KwentoNgTagumpay to as many people as possible to bring joy and hope especially at this time," says Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP for Corporate Communications.

As we remain in uncertain times, mental health is one of the youth’s urgent concerns worldwide. The lack of face-to-face interaction has limited ways to seek help from a professional or from someone you trust. Kwento ng Tagumpay seeks to empower the youth to hold on to hope, practice empathy, and understand mental health through storytelling.

“I hope that this campaign will make people take the first step to ask ‘Are you okay?’ — one gesture of concern can encourage our young ones to step forward to share what’s affecting them. That little gesture can send ripples of comfort and hope to move forward,” adds Dy Tioco.

Stories of truth and triumph amid the pandemic

Stories of light and triumph

The Kwento ng Tagumpay campaign will feature stories of people coming from different walks of life. It also includes articles, videos and social media posts to start conversations on mental health and how triumph can prevail amid the pandemic.

“The crowdsourced videos will have supporting articles and social media push to help spark conversations and encourage the community to start showing concern about the people’s general sentiment right now, which is anxiety and in-betweenness,” shares Dy Tioco.

“The general theme of these stories is showing triumph amid the pandemic—that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. As long as you have hope to cling to, you can overcome this feeling of uncertainty,” says Dy Tioco.
