Angel Locsin reveals she initially planned to stay in showbiz for two years: ‘Yun lang kasi ang deadline ko’

Angel Locsin’s showbiz foray was initially meant as a two-year pit stop to raise funds for a medical emergency, up until she discovered her passion for the industry.

In a podcast interview with actor Matteo Guidicelli, Locsin admitted that she intended to stay in showbiz to raise money for her father’s hospital expenses.

Locsin said her father’s hospital visits made her doubt her purpose in showbiz. At that time, she enjoyed taking up acting, modeling, and advertisement gigs but she never thought about staying in the industry for the long term.

“Medyo na-lost ako, wala akong purpose. Hindi ako alam kung anong gagawin. And then, na-challenge ako.

Locsin explained that it was working with veteran actors that ignited her passion for acting.

Even if Darna is Locsin’s most well-known series to date, Angel recalled that it was the GMA-7 fantaserye Mulawin that propelled her to stardom.

The actress also admitted that she missed working on teleseryes and films. Despite this, she said that she needs to focus on herself and her wedding to fiancé Neil Arce at the moment.

Aside from Darna and Mulawin, Locsin has appeared in well-known teleseryes such as The Legal Wife and Lobo.
