Life these days

Total lockdown is here again! My husband Loy and I don’t know exactly what to do. Clearly, we cannot go out. That idea seems more oppressive to us now than it ever was. I don’t know why.

We’ve been on lockdown for more than a year now. The one single time we went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday — he was turning more than 80 — Loy fainted and we had to spend two nights in a hospital. After that we swore not to go out again until the pandemic was over.

We should be feeling relieved at this re-lockdown. Instead we feel like we cannot breathe. Like we have lost our freedom.

We should be feeling relieved at this re-lockdown. Instead we feel like we cannot breathe. Like we have lost our freedom.

We are residents of Mandaluyong where MandTrack was imposed.  Neither Loy nor I got one. Maybe it’s because we are old. I know I send my columns through email and I play solitaire on my desktop but that’s as far as I go in being computer literate.

I do not know how to operate Zoom. I don’t know how to register myself anywhere on my computer. I tried to do banking on it. We set it up successfully in the bank but when I got home, it didn’t work. I don’t have the patience for it.

We don’t have MandTrack either. MandTrack is a digital tracing thing in Mandaluyong. It’s supposed to help control the spread of COVID-19.

To Loy and me, this means we can’t shop in a Mandaluyong supermarket or get haircuts as our salons are both in Mandaluyong. Our hair gets longer. My only solution is to clip it to keep hair out of my eyes as I make rosaries.

That’s what I do now. I get up, have breakfast, then sit down to make rosaries. Loy wakes up later, has breakfast then sits down to watch TV.  This lifestyle is infuriating. But what can we do?

Where once I would stare at walls conjuring a creative scheme, after my stroke I would just stare blankly at a wall thinking it was white. Even my writing style changed. I was that way for six years.

You know what controls COVID-19 for us? StemEnhance Ultra, the one with the green label, the one I sell. I mention this here now not to sell, but to show it really works.

When the first lockdown was declared I even gave our housemates bottles telling them to take two capsules every morning. I don’t think they did. I suspect they took one capsule only. But that was a year ago. They have not gotten sick.

The product is expensive. It comes from the US. It is made from natural ingredients — a blue-green algae, spirulina and other organic things. What it does is it gives you three to four million new stem cells around an hour after you drink it.

Stem cells are our body’s natural healing system. They heal anything that’s broken within us. When I got poisoning from insecticide I took two doses. I was cured in one day.

I should have mentioned that in my column. Now I give it to my husband twice a day to make him feel better and to keep him safe. That’s why he passed the swabbing test with flying colors.

I discovered StemEnhance by accident. In 2003 I had a mild stroke in my right brain. It changed my writing style and my personality. I stopped laughing out loud, stopped being creative.

Where once I would stare at walls conjuring a creative scheme, after my stroke I would just stare blankly at a wall thinking it was white. Even my writing style changed. I was that way for six years.

I think now that my stroke was sent to me by God to make me handle my mother’s Alzheimer as calmly as I did. My mother died in December 2009.

Early in 2010 I had lunch with old friends. One of them was male, good-looking. “You’re still handsome after all these years,” I said. “What’s your secret?” “I’m taking Stem-Enhance,” he said. “You should try it. I will give you a bottle first. Try it.” I did.

I found it gave me more energy so I kept taking it. On the eighth month, I suddenly heard a strange sound. It was like something had crashed to the floor. I went around my small apartment looking for what fell. I could not find anything.

But the next day I was out with friends and laughed loudly at somebody’s joke. “Twee,” she said, “you’re laughing like old times. I think you are finally well now.”

And when I wrote that week’s column, I also noticed that my old writing style had returned. That’s what StemEnhance did for me. It cured my stroke. That’s why I decided to sell it.

So now three things work for me. One, rosaries that take up most of my time and give me a backache in the afternoon. Two, this column. You know how hard it is to write when you’re feeling in prison and shackled because of COVID-19? And three, StemEnhance Ultra, which keeps the entire household well and healthy. That’s the way we live today.
