If you’ve been keeping up with Camille Prats on social media, then you’re aware of the actress' inspiring weight loss journey.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, Prats has been serious with her fitness, even sharing her progress with posts about her workout routine, motivation tips, and diet.

During a virtual event with Puritan's Pride Philippines, Prats shared how she first got into fitness. She revealed that she did work out even before the pandemic, but was just doing it for the heck of it.

"Even when I was pregnant, I would do core, I would do Pilates, I would sometimes do HIIT workouts—I would do all these things, but I really didn't commit to it," Prats shared. "I would do with just so masabi na 'Oh I was able to work out.' But not really, you know, the quality workout na nahihirapan ka," she explained.

But everything changed when her husband John Yambao realized he wasn't as healthy as he thought he was.

"I had the same realization, too," she mused. "I also thought I was healthy, I thought I was okay, up until, yun nga, nung medyo nagkaroon na ng difference. And then he and I went, 'Oh wow, so that's why people are kinda a bit shocked with the transformation," Prats shared.

Now more than ever, Prats realized the importance of practicing holistic wellness through daily activities, healthy eating, and vitamins.

“Staying healthy is a form of self-love, and is also an act of love and concern for others. I choose to stay well and healthy for my family, so that we can all get through these tough times, and so that we can enjoy what life has to offer,” she said.

Below, Prats shares some tips on how you can start your own fitness journey:

Have a fitness goal

The first step always starts with you. Identify your goal or purpose and ask yourself why you want to do it in the first place. Is it to lose weight, to be stronger, to be fit, or to improve posture? Whatever it is, channel your efforts into achieving it without pushing yourself too much.

For Prats and her husband, their goal was to be healthier for their family. “We have growing toddlers na super energetic, na sobra din mag-demand ng playtime. So, we want to give our all to them, and also not feel tired whenever we do it,” the actress said.

Commit to that goal

Once you’ve set an achievable goal, stick to it as it will help you reach your workout goals in a timely fashion.

“It's really about committing to working out, like, really doing quality workouts. Devoting 30 minutes to 45 minutes of your time each day,” the Puritan’s Pride ambassadress said. “Sometimes when we work out, it depends on our mood,” Prats added. “If it matters to you that much, it really is that important to you, then you will make time for it.”

Don’t mind the haters

Pinoys love to comment on people’s appearances. Whether you’re a public personality like Prats or not, you’ve probably experienced this from your relatives, friends, and even strangers. But Prats said to just ignore these comments “because everyone will always have something to say.”

“Don't worry about what other people say. If they don't support you, then maybe they are not the ones that you should be talking to about this change that you want to do in your life. I'm sure there are people around you na magiging supportive,” she said at the virtual event.

Prats added: “Surround yourself with people who will support you with this new change in your life.”

Do what makes you happy

Regardless of what your fitness goals are, be sure that what you’re doing will make you feel happy. Don’t be pressured with other people’s fitness achievements or transformations, just focus on your own progress. Prats says that the most important thing is you’re doing something that “makes you happy.”

For her, it feels rewarding when she hears that more women are inspired to begin their own fitness journeys because of her posts. “I'm grateful that I've been hearing a lot of good comments,” Prats said. “I think that's really one of the greatest things that has happened to me. After losing weight, it's more of inspiring a lot of women, and I'm really very happy with that. It inspires me even more to continue what I've started,” she stated.
