‘Let’s mend our politics, focus on what truly matters,’ Samantha Bernardo says at Miss Grand International 2020

2020 Miss Grand International Philippines bet Samantha Bernardo has made it to the Top 10 in Miss Grand International and shared a heartwarming speech during the coronation night in Bangkok, Thailand this Mar. 27.

"Year 2020 will be remembered as the most challenging period in our history. COVID-19 pandemic has brought despair, destruction, and death," Bernardo said said.

The 27-year-old beauty queen also mentioned in her speech that the challenges we are currently facing today is "an every day battle" for each one of us.

"I have always lived up to my faith in humanity, cultural understanding, and respect for others," she said. "These are what I will continue to stand for if I become your next Miss Grand International. I will be a channel of hope, compassion, and unity to stand and form, and stop any form of war and violence in this world," Bernardo said.

She ends her speech with an inspiring note: "As we face the COVID-free world, join me as we work together in mending our politics, and focusing on what truly matters. We are living under one sky. So let us all these live peacefully, where love is our language, humanity in our race, and peace is our lasting legacy to the world."
