Are Selena Gomez and Chris Evans dating? Fans and internet sleuths think so
An Instagram follow, some questionable photographs and a viral TikTok video are what make fans think that these two stars may be secret lovers.
How did this rumor came about?
It started when eagle-eyed fans noticed that Chris Evans was already following Selena Gomez on Instagram recently (although as of this writing, Selena hasn’t followed him back yet).
Superfans were quick to scan their mental archives that during her guesting on Andy Cohen’s Watch Happens Live! show, Selena shared that she has a crush on the Marvel star. The clip from the show was posted on TikTok, where fans got excited and cheered on Selena whom they think has manifested the moment Chris began following her on Instagram.
Then came circulating online separate paparazzi photos of the two stars—which some claim were taken on the same day—leaving the same establishments. As more photos like these came out online, fans started to speculate that the two may intentionally be leaving the establishments separately so they won’t be photographed together.

However, Elle has debunked these theories and has proven that they were taken years apart. Like the first one, where Selena was leaving a pilates studio, was actually taken from 2017; while Chris’ photo carrying a box that was posted with Selena’s was taken way back in 2013.
Even with proof that the two stars may NOT be actually dating, people online were so eager to ship the two.

Selena recently opened up about her single status earlier this year after rumors circulated that she was dating her Only Murders in the Building co-star Aaron Dominguez.
“We had just started working together,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “I honestly thought, ‘no wonder guys don’t want to date me!’ I think people only care because I’m young, and the older I get the less they’ll care. For now, it’s a part of the job that I don’t really like.”
She added, “I’m actually grateful that I’m not involved with anyone right now.”
Selena has been involved in high-profile relationships, including with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
Meanwhile, Chris, who previously dated Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly, is also reportedly single.
Selena and Chris have yet to confirm or deny the rumors but we are still waiting for Selena to follow Chris back on Instagram.
