Sofia Andres gets real about getting lip fillers: ‘I'm doing it for myself, not for anybody else’

Actress Sofia Andres has opened up about her lip enhancement journey, and how it positively affected her self-confidence over time.

In a vlog uploaded by celebrity dermatologist, Dr. Aivee Teo, the 25-year-old celebrity mom looked back on her journey in getting lip fillers.

Andres recalled that getting lip fillers was like “a trend” back then on Instagram. She had hesitations at first, but eventually went through it—and it was by far the best decision she made, especially since according to her, it positively affected her confidence.

When asked by Dr. Aivee how come she’s very open about it—especially with negative connotations in the country about plastic surgery and enhancements—the actress stressed “I want everyone to feel like it’s safe to do it.”

"It's not a bad thing. It's really beautiful. It changes the shape of my face," she added. "I don't know how but it makes it [look] smaller."

She furthered: "I feel more confident when my lips are more plumped kasi even without eye makeup and blush on, I would just put balm and that's it."

After giving birth to her daughter Zoe, the first-time mom said she makes sure to practice self-care, which also includes consistent working out.

"Then I work out twice a day. Double effort talaga if you wanna look your best," said Andres.

And despite the stigma of getting enhancements, she stressed: "I'm doing it for myself, not for anybody else."

"I think I got comfortable in my own skin. I'm at that phase now,” she said. “Kasi before, parang I don't know what to do with my style, makeup. It's chaos," she recalled.

"When I gave birth, this is the best version of myself. I learned how to love myself more than anything,” she added.

Sofia Andres first announced that she welcomed her first baby, Zoe in 2020 with her partner, Daniel Miranda. She is known for her roles in Bagani, Pusong Ligaw, and The Iron Heart, among others.
