Kris Aquino reveals she and ex-bf Herbert Bautista tried to reconnect—but says his plans ‘are his own’

As she promised in an Instagram post over the weekend, Kris Aquino posted a “tell-all” video on her Facebook page on Sunday, March 22.

The 25-minute video tackled a number of things—from issues surrounding her former staff Bincai Luntayao (Kris said there is no “bad blood” between them) to issues concerning her sons Josh (she reiterated that Josh had not gotten a girl pregnant) and Bimby (“Bullying a 13-year-old dahil sa tingin nila bakla siya. Utang na loob naman. This is 2021. We are living in 2021,” Kris said).

But perhaps the most interesting point on her video—where Kris seems to be reading from an already-prepared written statement—was her revelation that she and former boyfriend Herbert Bautista tried to rekindle their relationship.

In the video, Kris said she and Herbert tried to “reconnect.”

“We (Kris and son Bimby) recently discussed Herbert Bautista… because the two of us tried to reconnect,” Kris said.

Kris added that before reconnecting with Herbert, she had to ask permission from Bimby.

“Nung pinag-uusapan namin, sinabi niya, ‘I can see, mama, how you still look at him. You do not look at others the way you look at him. If he is your happiness, then he has my vote).’”

Kris went on to say that her choice of the word “vote” does not pertain to Herbert’s political career. Herbert was a former mayor of Quezon City.

She even revealed that she sold her Quezon City home and is currently renting a condo unit in another city. “HB’s plans, his political plans, whatever plans he has, they are his own,” Kris said. Her son Josh is currently based in Tarlac province, Kris said.

“Kuya Josh happens to be very happy in Tarlac. He is not there para mag-establish ako ng presence in the same province where my father and my brother started their public service journeys,” she explained.

Kris went on to talk about her bashers—particularly those who criticized her efforts to help during the early days of the pandemic. She said that was not a political move and she has no agenda for helping out.

She also said supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte have no reason to bash. She knows who is attacking her, Kris said, and Duterte isn’t among them. “Alam ko, never ko siyang binanatan. So para po sa mga DDS, wala tayong reason na maging magkaaway,” Kris said.

Kris ended her 25-minute video by quoting the Taylor Swift song Mad Woman. The lyrics she mentioned go as follows: “And there’s nothing like a mad woman. What a shame she went mad. No one likes a mad woman. You made her like that. And you’ll poke that bear ’til her claws come out. And you find something to wrap your noose around. And there’s nothing like a mad woman.”

“Tama na, sobra na, lalaban na,” she added.
