Miss Globe 2021 is Philippines' Maureen Montagne

By Camille Santiago Published Nov 06, 2021 10:27 am

It's another win for the Philippines! Maureen Montagne was proclaimed Miss Globe 2021 in Tirania, Albania on Friday, Nov. 5 (early morning of Saturday in Philippines)—another win in the international pageantry for the country.

Montagne's win came just days after Cinderella "Cindy" Obeñita was named Miss Intercontinental 2021 in Egypt. The Fil-Am beauty bested over 50 delegates, and is the second Filipina to win the Miss Globe title after Ann Colins in 2015.

"This is such an honor and I can't wait to celebrate with all of my [fellow] Filipinos. Thank you so much for all your love and support," she said in an interview shortly after the competition.

"I hope to hit the ground running with my advocacies and feeding the hungry all around the globe," she added.

The 28-year-old professional host also earned the second place in both pre-pageant competitions: Miss Bikini and Head to Head Challenge. She also placed second in People's Choice Award.

In the final question and answer portion, Montagne was asked about beauty and how it can be enriched

"I think that true beauty comes from within. To be a Miss Globe is to be a beauty that inspires. What makes us beautiful is our smiles, it's what we do for our community. It's how we give back to others, and it's how we carry ourselves through life," she replied.

"I believe that everyone has beauty in inside of them, and I believe it is our duty to share it with the world, and to give back, and to truly inspire others," she added.

The other finalists were Nigeria's Ester Ogechi Gabriel (first runner-up), Turkey's Melike Bali (second runner-up), Venezuela's Jhosskaren Carrizo Smiler (third runner-up), and Canada's Hailey Hamelin-Wilson (fourth runner-up).
