Subscription rates for Disney+ will be increasing this April.

A new pricing plan will be rolled out beginning April 24, with the most affordable Mobile Plan (P159 per month) getting phased out.

In the old subscription's place will be the new Basic Plan which will go for P249 monthly and P1,990 annually. Under this plan, users can stream content at up to 1080p with Dolby Atmos, create up to seven profiles, download content for offline viewing on three devices, and watch through phones, laptops, tablets, and TVs.

Initially, the P159 Mobile Plan only allowed users to watch series and films on the streaming platform on their smartphones.

Meanwhile, the price for a Premium Plan will go from P369 a month to P519 a month. This will also give users additional perks such as 4K Ultra HD streaming and allowing up to four users to watch at the same time. Those who want to pay annually will pay P4,190 per year.

The streamer sent out a text message to subscribers about the plan changes. According to the Disney+ help desk, existing Mobile Plan subscribers will be transitioned to the Basic Plan. Subscription fees will also increase on existing subscribers' next renewal dates.

Users who sign up for a Disney+ account before April 24 will see the price change in their next billing cycle on or before the mentioned date.

Disney+ noted that existing subscribers have the option to cancel their plans.

The streaming service is home to movies and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star. Among the newest content to watch include X-Men '97, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), Wonderful World, Grey's Anatomy, and more.
