Filipinos are known for many things—being hospitable, having strong family ties, and being resilient. But a new study revealed that they are also some of the "most loving" people in the world.

A new global study from Crossword Solver found which countries in the world are the most loving based on how many times people say "love you" online.

Researchers collected a sample of geotagged tweets posted in countries and cities all over the world and analyzed which ones contained variations of the phrase "love you," including tweets with "love u" and "<3 you" in them as well as those that had different types of heart emojis followed by "u" and "you."

The researchers then calculated the proportion of "loving" tweets per 100,000 overall to determine the "most loving" location in the world.

The Philippines' capital Manila was found to be the "most loving capital city in the world" with 1,246 loving tweets for every 100,000 posted on the social media platform.

The other capitals that followed are Guatemala City, Guatemala (1,224); Luanda, Angola (1,180); Jakarta, Indonesia (974); and Mexico City, Mexico (948).

"Love is at the core of most families, and immediate and extended family are considered very important in Filipino culture," the study stated, referring to what could have led to the results.

"Younger generations are also known to wear their heart on their sleeve online: the concept of hugot (a Filipino word meaning to express deep emotion) is spread among friends, family, and romantic partners through poignant quotes, music, and videos," it added.

Other key findings of the study include Guatemala being the most loving country in the world and Cochabamba, Bolivia being the most loving city.
