Starting today, Jan. 7, residents of Quezon City may now apply for their city's own unified ID called QCitizen ID.

The local LGU announced in a statement that residents of QC may now register for the said ID. The QCitized ID is a unified ID which can be used for Q City Bus, health, and other social services.

As of writing, the site is currently down due to the influx of residents trying to register. However, the site is being fixed and will be up again by 6:00 pm.

Here's what we know so far.

UPDATE: Dahil sa dami ng nag-a-apply para sa QCitizen ID, nakararanas ng server-related issues ang ating website...

What is a QCitizen ID?

The QCitized ID is a unified ID which, aside from the above mentioned services, will also act as a senior citizen, solo parent, and persons with disability or PWD ID.

“The QCitizen ID will enable us to provide better services to citizens and allocate resources more efficiently,” said City Administator Mike Alimurung. He also mentioned that it will also help them determine who will be on the priority list when the COVID-19 vaccine arrives.

“The registration will give importance to those who are on the priority list for the COVID-19 vaccine–senior citizens, PWDs and frontliners,” said Mayor Joy Belmonte-Alumurong.

Who can apply for it?

According to Quezon City's press release, "Those eligible to sign up are residents who have a government-issued ID or barangay certificate."

How do you apply?

First you must create an account on the city government’s E-Services portal and fill out the necessary information.

Note that ONE (1) QC E-Services account can only be registered for ONE (1) QCitizen ID. "A family member cannot use their own account to register parents or other relatives. They all have to register separately,” Alimurong said.

After successfuly registering and being approved by the LGU, you will be provided with a QCitizen ID number and digital ID, which you can access via the QCitizen App (available on Google Playstore and Apple App Store). To get a free physical ID card, the resident must be 15 years old and above.

For those without internet access, the Quezon City will conduct an in-person, on-the-ground registration drive in barangays in the coming weeks. It will be piloted in Baragay Central on Jan. 15.

In the mean time, senior citizen, solo parent, and PWD ID holders may still use their existing IDs.
