Sara Duterte to run as vice president

The Commission on Elections announced on its official Facebook page that Sara Duterte would be running for the post, replacing Lakas-CMD's Lyle Uy.

Duterte's bid for the vice presidency comes after she withdrew her COC for reelection as Davao City mayor and resigned from her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago.

Her lawyer Reynold Munsayac filed the COC at the Palacio Del Gobernador in Intramuros, Manila, two days before the deadline for substitution of election aspirants on Nov. 15.
