Sun Life Philippines recently concluded its 125th anniversary celebration by bringing together two of the most talented musical groups in the country, Ben&Ben and The Company, in a virtual OPM Christmas concert for its clients, advisors and employees.

Sun Life’s brand ambassadors Piolo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, Enchong Dee, Iñigo Pascual and Charo Santos-Concio made a special appearance while the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir serenaded the audience.

“We look forward to bringing some Yuletide cheer in everyone’s homes,” said Sun Life chief marketing and client experience officer Gilbert Simpao. “The year may have been a challenging one, but there is still reason for us to be thankful and celebrate Christmas.”

A memorable year-long celebration

Sun Life kicked off its anniversary celebration in January with a series of events highlighting the stories of clients and advisors who have trusted Sun Life in their journey to a brighter life.

Over a hundred performers led by some of the finest talents in the entertainment industry, such as Rachelle Ann Go, Ben&Ben, Morisette Amon, Aicelle Santos and Sun Life’s brand ambassadors, helped mark the milestone with a concert-musical titled Beyond Lifetimes, which highlighted remarkable stories of Sun Life clients, advisors and employees.

An art exhibit dubbed Portraits Beyond Lifetimes was likewise held, with works of brilliant young Filipino artists, including Abigail Angeles, Venazir Martinez, Jappy Agoncillo, Megan Diño, and Katrina Pallon.

Shifting gears

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Sun Life shifted gears as it responded to the most pressing needs of the greater community. Among the assistance provided by its philanthropic arm, Sun Life Foundation, were various medical supplies for hospitals, solar equipment for checkpoints, sustenance for the vulnerable families, and Life Armor insurance coverage for frontline teams.

Sun Life also launched a digitally enabled selling process and pioneered the Remote Online Medical Exam to enable Filipinos to avail themselves of life insurance products and stay financially protected even during the lockdown.

Various webinars featuring renowned speakers such as Francis Kong, Chinkee Tan, David Leechiu, Krie Lopez and Chappy Callanta were also conducted to guide Filipinos in their financial and health journey amid the pandemic.

“It was a meaningful and memorable 125th anniversary for us at Sun Life,” Simpao said. “As we welcome a new year, we will remain at the Filipinos’ side as their lifetime partner to a brighter future."
