The Kingmaker—award-winning documentary about Imelda Marcos, wife of the ousted late dictator Ferdinand Marcos—is now free to watch online.

Director Lauren Greenfield announced on Twitter March 11 that they've "finally" worked out an arrangement with local media giant ABS-CBN and its production company iWantTFC to be able to share the film "with *all* of our friends in the Philippines."

"Anyone can now watch it," Greenfield said, "so pls share this link."

"Keep sharing the link so that everyone can watch," she said in a follow-up tweet.

It's available on any device through the video hosting platform Vimeo.

The Kingmaker gives an extraordinary look into the controversial political career of the former first lady, whose ostentatiously extravagant lifestyle resulted in the coinage of the term "imeldific."

"A journey through the Marcos family's long history of corruption, extravagance and brutality, this documentary tells a cautionary tale of a powerful female leader whose questionable sense of reality divided a nation," its synopsis reads.

The Kingmaker has received critical acclaim and has earned numerous nominations for best documentary awards worldwide. It won the audience award for best documentary at the Warsaw International Film Festival in 2019.

The documentary becomes more accessible to the public at a crucial time—the country's campaign season, which is just less than two months before the high stakes election day on May 9.

Among those running for the presidency is no less than the son and namesake of the late dictator, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

To date, The Kingmaker has over 200,000 views on Vimeo, according to Greenfield.

It also had a free back-to-back online screening with Aswang, a documentary about the Duterte administration's bloody war on drugs, last Feb. 27 and 28.
