PH records 7,757 new COVID-19 cases, as recoveries spike to 15,288

The Philippines hits its third straight day of logging in over 7,000 new COVID-19 cases.

On Sunday, March 21, the Department of Health reports 7,757 additional COVID-19 cases. This is after the country logged in its highest recorded tally of COVID-19 cases in a day yesterday.

Based on the report of the DOH,  the country’s overall tally is now 663,794.

Meanwhile, 5,288 recovered from the disease, while 39 related deaths were recovered. This puts the total recoveries to 577,754, while the active cases are at 73,072.

On Saturday, March 20, the DOH released an advisory urging the public to stay at home, ensure adequate air circulation, and seek immediate consultation as COVID-19 cases continue to surge in the country.

The DOH also urged the public to wear face masks at home “when not alone"—“at all times and in all settings."
