Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, is set to visit the Philippines in November.

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the US official’s Manila trip will take place after the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders Meeting.

In an official statement, she said that Harris’ participation “will underscore the US commitment to economic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and she will outline US goals for our APEC host year in 2023.” The APEC event will be held from Nov. 18 to 19 in Bangkok, Thailand.

“The Vice President will then travel to Manila, the Philippines. In the Philippines, she will meet with government leaders and civil society representatives,” she said.

Jean-Pierre also added that Harris’ PH visit “will re-affirm and strengthen the US-Philippines Alliance and underscore the breadth of our cooperation as friends, partners, and allies.”

“Additional information about bilateral engagements and other details on the trip will be forthcoming — and we look forward to having further details to share soon,” she continued.
