Following his violent rampage during the Jose Rizal University (JRU) vs. De La Salle College of St. Benilde game on Nov. 8, John Amores has officially been pulled out of the Heavy Bombers basketball team.

JRU released a statement on his removal on Nov. 15, upgrading his current suspension to his expulsion from the school's sports program. He also faces other penalties as a student for his actions.

"He will no longer be part of any sports program of JRU, effective immediately. Contingent with this action: all privileges accruing to Mr. Amores as a student-athlete have been canceled; and based on the student manual of the university, he has been further meted out the penalty of suspension from his classes and has been required to undergo community service," the statement read.

In addition, the ex-Heavy Bombers player will be provided counseling through the university's sports mental health and wellness programs.

"We will do everything to mold our student-athletes to be responsible students and better individuals, in and out of the sporting arena," JRU added.

In his last basketball game, Amores lost his cool, charging and punching players on the Benilde Blazers bench with 3:22 minutes left in the matchup.

The day after the ball game, NCAA banned the violent player "indefinitely" as well as others from both JRU and Benilde for their actions. Benilde players Taine Davis and Jimboy Pasturan have also lodged a physical injury complaint against Amores before the San Juan City Prosecutor's Office.

Amores also faces a criminal case filed by the UP Men's Basketball Team for assaulting player Mark Belmonte in July.
