#ECQSeason3: Netizens find humor in Metro Manila’s third ECQ
Today marks the start of the third Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the country and netizens on social media never fail to find humor amid the pressing situation.
The strictest lockdown classification for NCR is until Aug. 20 to contain the rise of COVID-19 cases and the highly contagious Delta variant.
ECQ was first imposed in March 2020 and again in March 2021. The latter put four provinces—Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan— and under the most rigid quarantine for one week.
It can be remembered that netizens made a handful of memes too back in March. .
Filipinos are known for their humor and wit, and these new memes for #ECQSeason3 are hilarious!
“From one large bubble, including the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, the NCR will shift to tiny bubbles,” PNP Chief Guillermo Eleazar announced yesterday.
Thus was born the hashtag #TinyBubbles.

One netizen even jokingly suggested that the theme song for this month’s ECQ is Nora Aunor’s Tiny Bubbles song from the superstar’s “Blue Hawaii” album back in the ‘70s.
