For this year's pageant, the candidates will be competing in only three international beauty pageants: Miss International, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss Globe.

In November, the BPCI withdrew its franchise with the Miss Grand International (MGI) pageant. In a statement, they thanked the organizers of MGI and wished them "best in their future endeavours."

"With that said, we remain committed to delighting our followers and sponsors through the productions of world-class pageants that help propel Filipinos to reach their fullest potential and achieve greatness in an international stage. For almost 60 years, we have built BPCI’s legacy in producing a stellar roster of international winners and over the decades we have enjoyed the immense support of our fans,” it added.

This is after BPCI received criticisms for alleged favoritism from MGI owned by Nawat Itsaragrisil.

Pageant fans got even more upset when the Philippines' latest representative, Roberta Tamondong, was hailed as fifth runner-up following Miss Grand Mauritius Yuvna Rinishta resignation. However, in the actual competition, Roberta failed to land in the Top 10 in the October 25 pageant.
