Tragedy struck a Travis Scott concert in Houston, Texas, leaving 8 people dead and many injured after a crowd surge in the densely-packed Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival.

The victims were aged 14, 16, two were 21, two were 23 and one was 27 years old, while one of the victim's age remains unknown. At least 25 people were transported to the hospital and of those, 13 remained hospitalized Saturday afternoon. Five of them are minors.

"There are a lot of unanswered questions," Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said. "Over the next several days, several weeks, could be even longer, we'll take an in-depth look at everything that took place, why it took place, what steps we can do moving forward to mitigate an incident of this kind from taking place.”

Around 50,000 people were at the sold-out Astroworld Festival at NRG Park when the incident began at around 9 p.m. on Nov. 5. Videos soon circulated on social media of the event wherein people were screaming to “stop the show” amid the havoc.

In a statement issued shortly after the concert, Scott said he was "absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”

He added that he is "committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need."

As of writing, Rappers Travis Scott and Drake are being sued by at least one of the attendees, 23-year-old Kristian Paredes, for having "incited mayhem" at the concert.
