Vice President-elect Sara Durterte-Carpio named former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) chairman Reynold Munsayac as her new spokesperson, replacing incumbent Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco.

The Office of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte announced Munsayac's appointment on Tuesday, June 21, after President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. designated the re-elected mayor as the new Department of Tourism secretary last May.

Munsayac left his post as PCGG chairman in 2021 to help in Duterte-Carpio's campaign for the 2022 elections.

"Munsayac’s professional portfolio is highlighted by his unquestionable integrity and dedication to governance and public service, and the Vice President-elect is confident that he will be able to bring this experience to his new duty," Duterte-Carpio's camp said in the statement.

Munsayac and Duterte-Carpio were classmates at the San Sebastian College–Recoletos where they studied law. He was the valedictorian of their class and is a practicing lawyer.

In 2017, Munsayac assisted Duterte-Carpio in the establishment of Tapang at Malasakit, a worldwide organization that pledges support for incumbent President Rodrigo Duterte and aims to help address the problems faced by the local communities in the country.

Duterte-Carpio, in addition, expressed her gratitude for "Mayor Frasco’s help in the timely and effective communication of her messages to the Filipinos through the media."

"She was committed to the truthful dissemination of information, and her duty as the spokesperson was marked with intelligence and grace," the statement said.

"Inday Sara wishes the incoming Secretary of the Department of Tourism Frasco all the best in her new role in nation-building."
