Following reports of actor Kit Thompson allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Ana Jalandoni, women's group Gabriela, the Philippine National Police, and Cornerstone issued statements about the incident.

Jalandoni has also shared her first post since Thompson was put behind bars on Mar. 18, saying she will issue a statement soon.

"When you love someone you will never ever harm them," the actress wrote on Facebook. "Minahal mo ba talaga ako?"

"This is me saying, you all should be careful out there. I can't reply to all of you right now but thank you for checking up on me. I will release a statement soon."

Jalandoni's sister Marie rushed to the Tagaytay police station in anger. While the actress isn't able to tell the full story in detail to her sister yet, the Jalandoni family will press charges on Thompson.

"Iba yung mukha niya talaga. Wala siyang mata, kulay green, kulay black, basag talaga yung mukha niya," Marie told reporters.

"Sabi niya sinampal muna siya, suntok, sampal, suntok, sampal sa ulo. Kaya namamaga talaga yung mukha niya."

Meanwhile, the Gabriela Partylist expressed "deep concern" over the reported incident. "This unfortunate news comes at a time when we are celebrating Women's Month," the group said on social media.

"We support the conduct of a full investigation on the incident, as we reiterate our stand against violence against women. Nothing justifies the acts of violence inflicted on women by their partners. This latest incident highlights the need to amplify the #LabananAngAbuso campaign to end violence against women."

The PNP also released a statement on the controversy, "vowing" to conduct a full, fair, and transparent investigation.

"Talagang hindi natin i-totolerate ang ganitong mga gawain kasi unang-una wala talagang laban ang mga babae pagdating sa strength ng lalaki. Napaka-unfair naman kung di natin ito bibigyan ng justice," said Tagaytay police chief Lt. Col. Ronaldo Baula.

Thompson's management, Cornerstone, also issued a statement earlier in the day.

"As we have yet to receive a formal report regarding the alleged incident, we could not give a response nor comment on the matter. However, we request the public to be mindful of casting judgment based on unfounded reports being circulated online," it said.

According to Tagaytay police, "jealousy" is the supposed reason behind the physical abuse.

Meanwhile, netizens tweeted their frustrations about Thompson and showed support for Jalandoni.

Social media influencer Xian Gaza also gave his two cents on the matter in a now-deleted post, saying "Magandang umaga po sa lahat except kay Kit Thompson."

Gaza also posted a blind item on the "summary" of the incident, explaining the violence was due to jealousy.
