Daniel Padilla not invited to Dominic Roque, Bea Alonzo's wedding due to rift
Dominic Roque revealed that Daniel Padilla will not be invited to his wedding due to their ongoing rift, adding they haven't talked to each other since 2020.
Speaking to the media during an ambush interview at the sidelines of a skincare clinic's Thanksgiving event, Roque was asked if he invited former couple Daniel and Kathryn Bernardo to his upcoming nuptials with Bea Alonzo.
"Si Kath [invited]," Roque said. The press quickly followed up, asking the former, "Si Kath lang, kasi mas close ka sa kanya?"
"Oo, kasi hindi pa naman kami okay ni DJ," he admitted.
"I mean we're not talking since 2020. We haven't seen each other for the longest time since 2020," he said without elaborating on the reason for his fractured relationship with Padilla.
So far, among the revealed guests for the Alonzo-Roque wedding include Marco Gumabao, Khalil Ramos, and Patrick Sugui, who were part of celebrity barkada group "Nguya Squad" with Ria Atayde, Zanjoe Marudo, Joe Vargas, Alora Sasam, Joshua Garcia, Gabbi Garcia, Sofia Andres, and Daniel Miranda.
“Actually, hindi pa namin nailalatag sino ang nasa entourage. Basta sa lalaki side, ‘yung mga barkada kong lalaki: sina Patrick, Marco, Khalil. ‘Yun talaga ang mga kasama ko,” he said.
In the meantime, Roque shared that he and Alonzo are busy ironing out details for their wedding and will send out "Save the Dates" later in the month.
“Actually, itong January ‘yung Save the Date so inaayos na namin lahat ang lahat ng ayusin… itong January dapat ilatag lahat. Ang daming aasikasuhin from our families to our friends, mga bisita, our ninongs and ninangs,” he said.
Roque and Alonzo are set to tie the knot this year, as the latter revealed in July 2023 that she is "definitely" having her wedding with Dominic Roque in 2024. The soon-to-be-newlyweds, however, remained tightlipped about the details of their wedding.
Daniel-Dominic friendship
In 2020, eagle-eyed social media users noticed Roque had been absent from Nguya Squad's get-togethers and outings.
In 2021, talent manager Ogie Diaz confirmed that there were "misunderstandings" between Roque and Padilla, hence, unfollowing each other.
During that time, there's also an issue about Dominic, who allegedly "ghosted" Magui Padilla, Daniel's younger sister. But according to the talent manager, "May nakausap ako. Hindi raw ganoon."
Furthermore, on September 16, 2021, Daniel's mom, Karla Estrada, came into the picture.
"Sa pagkakaalam ko, may nasabihan si Karla na isang tao na sinabi niyang si Dominic, malabo na silang magkaayos ni DJ," Ogie said citing an unnamed source.
Roque has made several appearances in KathNiel's project, including La Luna Sangre (2018), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Pangako Sa 'Yo (2015), and Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay (2013).
He also earned the moniker "Pambansang Third Wheel" after he was often seen with the former couple as their "photographer."
Meanwhile, Padilla and Bernardo announced their breakup in November 2023.
