The Ateneo de Manila University and the De La Salle University have both launched their vaccination programs by releasing sign-up sheets for their qualified stakeholders.
In an announcement today, La Salle said they are “firming up the vaccination plans for our students in senior high school, undergraduate, graduate, and College of Law students.”
“Based on the initial survey conducted last March, a good number of students are willing to be vaccinated through DLSU,” La Salle said.
In the same statement, La Salle also posted a pre-registration link for their stakeholders interested to take part in the program.
La Salle did not announce any other details yet regarding the initiative.
Last May 27, Ateneo also released a memorandum regarding their vaccination program where the university ordered 18,000 doses.
“We aim to provide added protection to the members of our community against the severe effects of COVID-19 through vaccination,” Ateneo said.
“While we await the delivery of the 18,000 doses of vaccine we ordered, we highly encourage members of the community to avail of the vaccine at the soonest time possible through their LGUs.”
Due to the limited jabs they are getting, Ateneo said they will implement a prioritization process as follows:
Group I: Full-time, part-time employees, employees under temporary employment, Jesuits in the Jesuit Residence;
Group II: Independent contractors (e.g. researchers, guest lecturers, etc.), Employees of the affiliate units;
Group III: University students;
Group IV: Eligible dependents of Group I such as spouse, children, parents, or siblings for single employees.
Commission on Higher Education chairman Prospero de Vera III has previously said that many universities have already expressed their intent to procure their own COVID-19 jabs.
“Remember, some of our big schools are part of business conglomerates. They have financial capability to procure vaccines,” De Vera said.
Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr. has said that a total of 10 million vaccines are expected to arrive this June.
