Supporters of the UP Fighting Maroons are still on a high a day after the basketball team championed the UAAP Season 84 men's basketball finals on Friday, May 13.

The University of the Philippines dethroned the Ateneo Blue Eagles with a 72-69 overtime win in the do-or-die Game 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday. It was the first time University of the Philippines earned the elusive title since it blocked the University of the East's bid for a three-peat in 1986.

Point guard JD Cagulangan ended UP's 36-year drought with a game-winning three-pointer at the last 0.5 seconds of last Friday's game. Shortly afterward, the team's supporters celebrated both offline and online, with the hashtags #UAAPFinals and #UPFight trending on Twitter.

Fans sure did experience several leaps of momentum during and after the game and now, we round up the best social media reactions that are downright relatable if you're still on a hangover from UP's much-awaited victory.

Twitter user @upmaroonpride shared a doseo of nostalgia with the then and now photos of the Maroons right after winning their UAAP championships.

Speaking of throwback, Twitter user @honeydpuffs shared a throwback video of Vice President Leni Robredo cheering along with the audience in one of the Maroons' games. Robredo earned her degree in Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UP Diliman in 1986.

The presidential aspirant threw a thanksgiving party for her supporters at the Ateneo de Manila University in Katipunan the same day as the basketball finals.

Here's another group of Iskolars ng Bayan-slash-kakampinks who, after Robredo's thanksgiving party, still made time to stop by a pizza parlor to catch their university's pivotal moment in real-time.

Meanwhile, another user tweeted a video of the crowd in the Mall of Asia Arena, chanting the names of Robredo and running mate Kiko Pangilan after the game. She related UP's wins to the year Filipinos organized the EDSA Revolution and "toppled down" the late dictator, Ferdinand Marcos Sr. "This 2022, UP won once more," she said. "The will of the people is clear. Blessed with premonition, tomorrow, maniningil tayo ng hustisiya.

Meanwhile, Twitter user @upmaroonsclub sent out a witty shoutout to UP Fighting Maroons' head coach Goldwyn Monteverde. "GOLD NA NGA WIN PA!!!!!!!  THANK YOU COACH GOLDWIN," the user wrote.

And, of course, fans lauded the performance of Cadalungan and his teammates CJ Cansino, Ricci Rivero, Harold Alarcon, as well as former UP Fighting Maroons players.

Then there's user @yoopeepayt, who shared a photo of a basketball signed by the Maroons and asked fellow iskolars if they had a good night's sleep after all that went through the previous night.
