The body of a four-year-old boy who was reported missing since May 26 was found in an old washing machine on Sunday, May 28.

Citing the Southern Police District, The Philippine STAR reported that the boy was allegedly stuffed inside the washing machine at the house of the suspect, who's 15 years old and is reportedly the boy's uncle.

GMA News' 24 Oras reported that the washing machine was located in the suspect's room. It was covered in cloth and had books stacked on top.

But the foul smell from within cannot be masked, which the suspect's mother noticed. The mother subsequently turned him in to authorities.

Autopsy reports showed that the boy suffered blunt traumatic injuries to the head.

According to 24 Oras, the suspect also reportedly sent photos of the boy to a relative via Messenger indicating "severe abuse," with some showing the boy was already inside a pail.

"Jeffrey Dahmer" can be seen as the suspect's name on the mobile app. Dahmer is the serial killer, cannibal, and rapist who was (in)famously depicted in Netflix's viral miniseries DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

The suspect also seemingly admitted to committing the crime, police said, based on his now-deleted Facebook post.

"I have done something that I deeply regret and I need to do my best to make up for it. I let my intrusive thoughts win and I have to pay the consequences," an excerpt from the post read, based on a police report shown by 24 Oras.

"I cannot express in words the pain and grift I feel for the victim's family. It is important for me to express my deepest condolences to the family and to let them know that I am truly sorry for what happened," another excerpt read.

A murder complaint was filed against the suspect, though proceedings had to be suspended until he turns 18.

The suspect is now in the custody of the local social welfare and development office.

The boy's grandfather wants the suspect to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

"Tuloy ang kaso. Pagdusahan niya ang ginawa niyang krimen," the grandfather said. "Ganoon siya kawalang-hiya."
