As Typhoon Rolly continues to ravage parts of Luzon, netizens asking for the whereabouts of President Rodrigo Duterte topped the trending topics on Twitter Philippines today.

The hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo was spurred by Duterte’s absence during the morning briefing of the national government regarding the country’s response to Typhoon Rolly.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque led the 10 am briefing with key government officials at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council headquarters in Quezon City.

Roque said that the president is in Davao City and is scheduled to be back in Manila on Tuesday.

Netizens took to social media to express their frustration over the president’s absence.

Roque, however, said Duterte is monitoring the situation from Davao and has ordered agencies to ensure immediate assistance to all areas affected by Rolly.
