The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has ordered the mandatory repatriation of all Filipinos in Afghanistan, issuing an Alert Level 4, after the Taliban seized Kabul and other key cities.

The alert level was raised due to the "worsening security situation in the country," read DFA's statement. All 130 Filipinos in Afghanistan will be immediately evacuated.

The DFA is in close coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Pakistan for the reparation of the remaining Filipinos in the conflict-ridden country.

Taliban fighters seized control of Kabul on Sunday, entering the presidential palace hours after the government collapsed and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.
