Is your heart yearning to study abroad? Well, this is your sign to pursue that dream.
In the past week, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines and the United Kingdom's Chevening Awards started offering the opportunity for aspiring scholars to fulfill their dreams of going international.
Are you up for the challenge? Ready your paperwork and requirements for the following scholarship opportunities:
Japanese government scholarship
Before diving into a big endeavor such as a scholarship program, it's important to know just what you're getting yourself into. Luckily, the Japanese Embassy in the country is offering face-to-face consultations to make that dream come true.
This May 31, the Embassy will be open for interested parties who want to know everything there is about getting a student Japanese visa and more. The appointment is open for undergraduates and master's programs such as specialized training, research, and more.
To book an appointment, simply send an email to @ma.mofa.go.jp with the subject "Face-to-Face Scholarship Consultation – May 31." Indicate your name, category of consultation, highest educational attainment, and preferred time slot (Morning from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or afternoon between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.).
Accepted applicants will be sent a verification email. Take note that this isn't an interview to apply for a scholarship, but simply a Q&A session for all your queries about the process.
Once you've gathered enough knowledge on making it as an international student, keep in mind that the UK's international awards program will be onboarding a new batch of fully-funded master's degree scholars starting August 2.
Though it's three months from this time of writing, it's still important to be prepared as possible when making the leap. Chevening scholarships are fully-funded from flights, accommodation, to all course fees, so it's best to start with finding the right field for you here.
Once you've chosen a program, you can prep yourself for their online application system here. Take note that you need a soft copy of your original school documents and at least two integral references to polish your application.
If you're shortlisted, Chevening will be conducting interviews. Check out their application timeline for a full briefer on what to expect on your journey.
