Filipino pride! Following Elisia Parmisano, Gehlee Dangca and Filipino-Korean Jin Hyeon-ju secured spots in the final lineup of global girl group UNIS, formed through SBS's Universe Ticket.

During its finale last Wednesday, Jan. 17, the South Korean survival program announced Dangca as the fourth group member after she received 2,464,526 votes.

Meanwhile, Hyeon-ju, also known as Belle from the K-pop girl group Cignature, concluded the list by garnering 496,797 votes.

UNIS will be formed by the South Korean record label and entertainment agency F&F Entertainment.

Other girl group members include Japan's Nana and Kotoko and SoKor's Bang Yunha, Oh Yoona, and Lim Seowon.

The entertainment company has yet to announce UNIS' debut date.

Universe Ticket consists of 82 aspiring K-pop idols across the globe, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, China, Canada, Australia, Myanmar, and Vietnam. They are categorized into five levels depending on their performance in each episode: P, R, I, S, and M.

To get a debut spot in the show, contestants must advance to the P-level, which is determined by the producers and fan votes alongside certain challenges.

The program comprises coaches who guide the aspirants in their K-pop universe journey. These include South Korean solo artists Adora and Younha, singer-actress Kim Se-jeong, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, and Lachica's Rian. ITZY's Yeji and Chaeryeong, on the other hand, serve as celebrity mentors.

Before the three Pinays, 20-year-old Sophia Laforteza also made headlines in 2023 after becoming the first Filipina member to join the K-pop girl group KATSEYE member under HYBE Labels and Geffen Records.
